The Beginning of a Different Life
Some decisions change everything.Mine was at 21 years old, when I decided to leave my home and follow an intuition: to learn scuba diving and travel the world.I didn’t know it then, but that choice would take me across oceans, deep into the underwater world, and finally lead me to my home in Loreto, Baja California Sur.
🌴 Thailand and the Philippines: Where It All Started
My journey began in Thailand, where I took my first scuba diving courses.It was love at first dive.Later, I moved to the Philippines, where I became a scuba diving instructor—teaching others to discover what I had found: the calm and magic of the ocean.
I spent years in Asia, Thailand, Phillipines and Maldives, growing personally and professionally.Then, I crossed the ocean to Playa del Carmen, Mexico, where I lived for over a year teaching diving and sharing my passion for the sea.
🌊 The Road That Led Me to Loreto
In Playa del Carmen, I met someone from a small coastal town called Loreto.At the time, I was trying to get my work visa, and this person helped me through the process.After three months of uncertainty, I finally got a call:
“You need to come to Loreto for three weeks to sign and collect your visa.”
So I came. It was whale season — and for me, it was a dream come true.Watching whales in Mexico was something I’d always imagined doing in faraway parts of the world.
During those three weeks, I went snorkeling with sea lions, diving through underwater canyons, and exploring untouched islands.I instantly fell in love — with the landscapes, the peace, the sunrises, and the freedom of this place.
💫 A Whisper from the Universe
One day, I was walking along the Loreto malecón, wondering if I should go back to Playa del Carmen to find work.And suddenly, something inside me shifted.That quiet voice that only appears when you’re exactly where you’re meant to be whispered:
“Why don’t you try staying here if you love it so much?”
The next day, I asked the local dive shop if they needed an instructor.Their answer was:
“Actually, our current instructor is leaving next week.”
At that moment, I knew the universe was guiding me.I said yes.And that decision — taken almost 11 years ago — changed my life forever.
🐋 Eleven Years Later, Loreto Still Has My Heart
I thought I would stay for one year… and here I am, over a decade later.Loreto captured me completely.I’m still in love with its sea, desert, sunrises, and the peace you can only find here.
